Online Workshop “Vaccine Design for Emerging Viruses”

If you are reading this, then you are a survivor of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic that, among other things, has taught us how emerging viruses can pose grave challenges to global health. In recent years, advances in bioinformatics have made it possible to design and test vaccines in a computer-simulated environment, before they are taken to wet-lab and human trials.

The Nazarbayev University School of Medicine together with the Yale University School of Public Health is glad to invite you to participate in the online workshop “Vaccine Design for Emerging Viruses” on December 4, 2021. This workshop is funded by research grants from Nazarbayev University, Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan, and the National Institutes of Health, MD, USA.

This workshop will introduce the participants to bioinformatics tools for:

1) analyzing viral epitope sequences,

2) creating a vaccine construct with the desired epitopes, and

3) testing the immune response of the vaccine construct in a computer-simulated environment.

The workshop will consist of two sessions and will be held via Zoom. Please visit the workshop web page for more details.
